Overall Ghostrunner is a game you will love to hate. All I want to emphasize is the game is brutal the game is annoying but the game is satisfying and so much fun… Eventually. Either way, you look at it Ghostrunner is rather impressive with a glorious world that you will never see as you jump and slide around the place messing people the fuck up. For this, I still believe it’s almost a puzzle game as you plot who to take out first, what to do when you stand here and do that. Ghostrunner is not a game where you just run and jump around dicing dudes up, Ghostrunner is a game where die a lot you learn a lot and you replay sections over and over as you perfect the route needed to pass. The action is fast and hectic but it’s also unforgiving.

They have added a lot of modes since my last review putting in a time-based mechanic and the golden oldie horde mode. It took a lot of patience to understand and get to grips with the sheer speed of it all as it’s on the same speed levels as a Quake or Unreal tournament. You play as a man with a blade who can Parkour and jump all over the level, slow downtime, and generally fuck people up. Could only get the difficulty options to show when doing level selection instead of a new game. Keeping up with Ghostrunners blistering pace just got easier thanks to new accessbility options.

Assist mode options – shorter cool down, extra life, and slower gameplay.

Photo mode complete with vignette, filters, etc.

So satisfying when you nail the perfect run or even just kill a guy spectacularly.

Kill run mode – you get a certain amount of time and add more time by killing enemies and getting pick-ups.

Level design has an almost puzzle-like element to it.

In doom eternal I had to turn on invincibility to get past the third level. Doom eternal has this problem too, I easily played all of the older doom games, even on the medium difficulty.

Wave mode – horde mode with randomizing every run enemy and upgrades between waves. In case anyone wants to actually know how to use it you gotta open mission select to get the option to turn it on.
